Weekly update 30/8 - Albert Ayler, Bengt "Frippe" Nordström, Bjarne Rostvold, Har You Percussion Group, Larry Dixon, Lars Lystedt, Marius Cultier, New Life Trio, Sir Lazarus, Truck and much more...

Another heavyweight update this Friday with lots of great records that we've never had in stock before, or very rarely do. There's nice additions to the jazz, free jazz, soul and rock sections, and some really interesting stuff in latin and reggae too. I can't really say if this is better than last week or not, but there sure are some legendary records like My Name Is Albert Ayler, three records by Bengt "Frippe" Nordström, Har You Percussion Group, Lasse Lystedt's Fanfar 10" and the South-East Asian psych LP from Truck - Surprise! Surprise! on Baal.

We've also recently bought loads of jazz from a large collection which we will be working as fast as we can to provide you with, so keep an eye out the coming weeks!

Remember to catch up with us on Facebook, where we post more pictures of records and try to keep it interesting!

Deep jazz set with the groovy "Afrikan samba" and the spiritual "Song for my friends"

Legendary trio album with Allan Botschinsky and Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen.

Private pressed free jazz with Milo Fine, supposedly made in 500 copies.

Early 80's funk/soul/boogie LP with the club track "Looks like your funk" and two step slowie "Stay".

Truly classic latin LP with the massive club tune "Welcome to the party" and more winners.

Private pressed Swedish rock/prog, recorded "live without an audience". Don't miss out on the other rock/prog titles being added today.

Big bad roots set including the killer track "Folly ranking".

1984 modern soul/boogie rarity with the killer dance tracks "Doing what comes naturally" and "Dance to the beat".

Killer West Indies fusion/funk jazz LP with "Diamant" & "Oelele" among others.

Japanese free jazz from 1975 with the full throttle "Fragment VI".

Beautiful record with the deep vocal jazz tune "Empty streets", that also had it's cover art lended to Gilles Peterson's "Freedom Rhythm & Sound" compilation & book.

Great Rocksteady double sider on the FAB-label. More Prince Buster added today, and many new additions to the Reggae-section.

Rare Texas soul/funk LP with the monster crossover soul track "It's not the end for me" and much more.

Heavy latin obscurity from mysterious artist and label, a really swinging album with a unique sound.

South-East Asian psych rock rarity that sounds heavily inspired by UK acts from the same era. Don't miss out on the other rock/prog titles being added today.

23/8 - Mini Big Update - Soul, Disco, Jazz & Hip Hop Special - Alice Clark, Chuck Armstrong, Blair, Newban x 2, Family Circle, George Smallwood and so much more!

This Friday we're having a Mini-version of our otherwise regular Big Update, especially strong in the Soul, Disco, Jazz/Fusion and Hip Hop departments. As the word 'Mini' implies, it might not be as massive as the bigger kind of Big Update, but it's definitely an impressive amount of really good records being put up for sale today. The focus might be on the high-end section, but there's no doubt there's something for everyone - both low-, mid- and big-ticket items.
I'll stop now and let the photos do the talking, so come celebrate payday with us and this healthy selection of music!

Remember to catch up with us on Facebook, where we post more pictures of records and try to keep it interesting!

Weekly update 16/8 - Carsten Meinert, Donna McGhee, Archimedes Badkar, Maxx Traxx, New World Generation, Sly Slick & Wicked and more...

The week comes to an end and goes out in style with plenty of great records, along with some real heavyweight titles. A few of my own favourites are the Carsten Meinert, Donna McGhee and Sly Slick & Wicked, but the Johnny Osbourne & Jackie Mittoo 45's sure ain't bad either.

Hip-hop fans may not only enjoy our new arrivals in that section, but also the fact that the Wu-Tang Clan will be doing a show here in Stockholm (Gröna Lund) on Thursday 22/8. So if you're not too far away and too busy, take a weekend in Stockholm for a great show and maybe some record shopping while you're at it. Those of you who are more inclined to rock music might be interested in the fact that Swedish psychedelic rock sensation Dungen will be playing the same day, at Trädgården.

As usual on Friday's you'll be hit with our newsletter, but if you're short on time - start out with the blog, and work your way to the New in stock page when your boss isn't looking!

Weekly update 9/8 - Dyson's Faces, Eliminators, Fifty Foot Hose, George Wallington Quintet and more...

Hello Recordmaniacs!

The past week has been a soulful week, both in our store and on other places in Stockholm. Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators did two shows at Lydmar Hotel, and one of the most popular soul artists to come out of the Swedish music scene, Kaah, released his new album and did his first concert in a long time at Mosebacke / Södra Teatern. Unfortunately, Stockholm got struck by German rain (according to those in the know) which forced Lee Fields & The Expressions to cancel their planned outdoors concert. At least we had them here not too long ago, but since that was such a great show it would've been nice to witness them perform on Swedish soil once again.

Nicole Willis & Jukka Sarapää

Classic soul/funk LP with the massive club tune "Loving explosion".

Wonderful psych LP with such a beautiful cover, and the killer tune "Rose".

Very fine 50's jazz LP with Donald Byrd, Art Taylor and Phil Woods.

Big, punchy modern soul/disco favorite!

Heavy indie hip hop from 1996 with "Troubleman" and "Romper room".

Their most uncommon LP with the tough 80's boogie "Rip off".

Very strong 60's jazz with Eje Thelin, Idrees Sulieman and Jan Allan.

Very rare soul LP from 1973 that's exceptionally strong throughout both sides.

Classic psych/stoner rock from 1968.

Much wanted soul/disco LP with the soft soul track "Waves of love" that Karl Marthon used in this blog mix.

Here at the Record Mania Sweat Lodge™ we feel lucky to not have been flooded by the sneaky, sudden rain or
struck by the lightning and thunderstorms that's been taunting us the last week, forcing
us to run out and save our 10kr-crates (or dollar bins, as they would be known as in
countries with dollars as currency) several times a day from the evil moist.

This week's update is probably strongest in the Jazz-section, but we sure have some interesting
additions in the Soul/Funk/Disco, Hip-Hop and Rock departments as well.
Remember to catch up with us on Facebook, where we post more pictures of records and try to keep it interesting!
