Progg & Progressive Rock

A small update just before a short break for the Swedish midsummer celebrations. Swedish and non-Swedish progressive and/or political rock, with highlights in a UK original of the massive Demon Fuzz - Afreaka! LP on Dawn and the not so progressive, but heavy and ultra rare 7" single Styv Kuling on Scam Record. If you want to be the one sitting on a rare treasure in Swedish 70s rock history, here is your chance.

The physical store will be closed Friday 22/6-Sunday 24/6, back again on Monday 25/6, preparing for an update of Latin, Brazil, Reggae & Afro on Friday 29/6!
It looks like we'll be spending a lot of time indoors with rain this weekend, so thankfully, the online store is open for business though...

Soul 60s & 70s

Right in time for the Stockholm Soul Weekender 2018, there's a 60s-70s Soul update going on here. Many a fine LP from the likes of Marvin Gaye, The Lovelites, Willie Hutch, Eddie Kendricks, Continental IV, Ruby Andrews and so on, and some really nice additions to any 7" collection too.

We're up and running on a new, faster service than before. There are still a few small kinks, and a few bigger ones. For example, you probably didn't receive our weekly newsletter today.

If you're still waiting for the newsletter every week, we recommend you use our 
New In Stock-section 
instead as this is a much better way to browse all additions from the last week. The weekly e-mail will still be sent out in the future, but it'll soon be in a different form than before.

Blues & Blues Rock

Hard to feel bad when the sun is shining like it does in Stockholm right now, but we'll do our best to make it a little more blue. Tons of Blues today with legendary names like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, B.B. King - electric, harmonica, acoustic, piano - name your blues of the day and we hopefully have it!

Tomorrow, 21/4, is Record Store Day 2018! Store opens up one hour earlier than usual, 11-16, Trensum Tribe will be spinning records (13-15), and of the massive amounts of RSD releases we'll be selling a select few. And most importantly - a good time will be had by all!

When the RSD hangover has passed, you can look forward to a good week of live music the upcoming week here in Stockholm. First up is Johan Lindström Septett on Tuesday 24/4 and then Bobby Oroza with Cold Diamond & Mink on Saturday 28/4. Both at Fasching, more info here:

Rock 80s-Now

Filling up the store stock for Easter with a selection of Rock from the 80s and onward, with for-the-connaisseur-in-you things like This Heat, Nick Cave, Ride and Spacemen 3, as well as more records by mainstream artists that are harder to find than you might think (read: George Michael, Sinead O'Connor...).

We've already mentioned that we recently purchased a large Jazz collection, and as you see below and on the front page of recordmania.se we've listed two coming Jazz updates. But the fun has already begun, and you'll already see a lot of Jazz popping up among the new arrivals. More to come, so stay tuned!

Disco, Modern Soul & House

Disco, Modern Soul & House update today, where instructional dance records and private pressed oddities share space with more mainstream, yet still hard to find acts like Jamiroquai, the promo only Holland-Dozier-Holland album from 1980 and electronic classics like Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky. 

Next week's update will be on Thursday 29/3 instead of Friday due to the Easter Holidays. Please note that the store will be open as usual that day (Holy Thursday) but closed during the rest of Easter 30/3-2/4. See you again on Tuesday 3/4!
