We finish off 2019 with a very nice update focusing on soul sounds from 60s and 70s, both LPs and 45s! Among the rarer albums we have the rarest Family Circle LP in Let's Give Each Other Love, Terea's self-titled rare groove biggie and much loved LPs from Alice Clark, Ann Peebles, Jaedes, Continental IV, Darrell Banks and many more.

Also a small number of 45s including two rare and awesome Darrow Fletcher 45s, stone-classics from Gil Scott-Heron and Jon Lucien and huge northern track from Bobby Garrett!

Roaring and wailing blues update served this friday - lots of depressing delights from well known cherished porch warmers lacking dental insurance. Jokes aside, the cream of the crop today consists of Mississippi Joe Callicott, Lightning Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack, John Dummer Blues Band, the swedish only LP by Boz Scaggs and many many more.

Some nice rarities such as Billy Parker - Freedom of Speech, Carlos Franzetti - Grafitti, Tarika Blue - The Blue Path, Jorge Lopez Ruiz - Un Hombre De Buenos Aires and a bunch of Black Jazz LPs. Today we are listing well over 200 titles of free jazz, improv, avantgarde and spiritual jazz on the website. Among them we are very happy to be able to offer a nice and clean copy of the rarest and most desirable issue of Albert Ayler - Bells (the one with silk screened metallic foil disc on cover). Also quite of lot of newer free jazz/improv from 90s and 00s, including a bunch of very, very limited releases on Qbico/Sagittarius A-Star plus older stuff on classic labels like Strata East, Philly Jazz, FMP, ICP and ESP-Disk.

Today we're cooking together a little mix of cheaper to moderately priced records. Mixed titles within genres jazz, soul, rock, funk and fusion. Examples are Coalition - Birth on Kenya records, Pithecanthropus Erectus by Charlie Mingus Jazz Workshop, Funkadelic, Tom Waits - Swordfishtrombones, etc.

Techno & House

This Friday we're doing a little bit different update, namely only Techno, House & other electronic 12's and EP's. Most of them are from around 2011-2015, when the electronic scene had a great upswing and many new smaller labels were blooming. Also some late 90s records as well. Releases from labels like L.I.E.S., Swedish Skudge records, Berlin-based experimental/ambient Pan records, Theo Parrishs Ugly Edits, and so on.

There are a lot of interesting finds to be made within all the genres, and special for today is that we will also put out around half as many items as the website in the store only. So for the Stockholm diggers or for those visiting, come check our New in stock-section in the store as well.

Rare Groove-time today which means a nice mix of soul, funk and funk jazz sounds plus a few library albums thrown in this time too! Always happy to offer the Stark Reality LP, and the Hörselmat LP was a nice late addition from a yesterday store walk-in! Also both Malik and Soul Makossa by Lafayette Afro Rock Band, one of the rarest JBs-related LPs in Maceo and the Kings Men - Doing Their Own Thing, rare Canadian jazz funk from Mike Taylor and Company - Brute Force, some classic blaxpo-soundtracks and lots more.

Nice stuff in all mentioned sections, and the Brazilian section looks especially strong with much wanted classics by Marcos Valle, Orlann Divo, Jorge Ben, Copa 7 plus a few seldom seen 45s including a rare and great bossa jazz 7" with Betinho Do Vibraphone's Pandeiro Triste.

Soul and funk 45s!

Hello all,

Friday again, and this week it's soul/funk/rare groove 45 time. As usual we go from common but great titles to rare stuff, so there should be something for everyone in here. We also offer a large quantity of Swedish picture sleeve singles by iconic artists like Aretha, Otis Redding and Sam And Dave, if Atlantic's Rhythm and Soul series is your thing!

A special mention must go to the Sky's The Limit rarity Don't Be Afraid - deep modern soul with rare groove appeal, and a spaced-out semi-instrumental on the flipside. After that, make sure to check EX-Ta-C - Squeeze for an instant funky soul groove. Moving on, it always feels good to offer well-loved classics by artists like Skull Snaps, Marlena Shaw, Bobby Hutton, Betty Harris, ZZ Hill etc etc etc. In short, lots of superb music going out in the racks today!

As usual we do our best to be able to offer the classics everybody remotely interested in Hip Hop need to have such as Nas, Wu-Tang, Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac and Gang Starr, but we also have several rare titles we've never had before such as Two To The Jaw by Another Nasty Move , Too Nice's On a Mission and Mac Dre's Young Black Brotha!
