Soul 60s to 70s

Back to our regular Friday updates this week with a solid slice of 60s and 70s soul! Many of you will be familiar with the sole albums from artists like Alice Clark, Gloria Scott, Heartstoppers and Ernie Hines, and there's a reason for it -- they contain some fantastic music. Nobody could accuse Willie Hutch of being a small-timey one-album artist, but the same thing applies to his Soul Portrait LP, especially Lucky To Be Loved By You stands out as a must-have tune in the ocean of great soul recordings from that time. Add to that the deep soul monolith that is James Carr's A Man Needs A Woman, awesome Detroit sounds from Hesitations, Mary Wells' debut album from 1961 and a heap of cheaper but crucial LPs and 45s from people like Curtis Mayfield, Impressions, Barbara Lynn, O'Jays, Dells, Denise LaSalle and Edwin Starr (if you don't already own his There You Go, you know what to do).

Jazz and Free Jazz - reduced prices on around 150 items

Today we are doing another sale with the focus on our Jazz and Free Jazz. Around 150 titles have been reduced in price with between 10-60 percent, and more so in the week (Everything can be seen under New Arrivals). Some titles that are available today are for example Yosuke Yamashito Trio - Minas Second Theme, Perception and Friends, classics by Thad Jones, Frank Foster, Miles, Rollins, and a whole lot more.


We are always looking to buy records. We purchase bigger or smaller collections as well as rarer individual records. Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Disco, Latin, Brazilian, Afro, House, Reggae etc., but vinyl only. LP's, 12's and 7 inches are all of interest. We pay 40-60% cash or give 50-70% trade value of what we will sell for if the price is over 100 SEK for us to sell. The more expensive the record, the higher the percentage. For cheap records under 100 SEK we pay a lower percentage. We will give a 10% finders fee for any tips on collections we end up buying.

Soul and Disco sale - reduced prices on almost 200 titles

This week we do our summer sale on soul and disco LPs, 12s and 45s, with almost 200 titles with 10 to 60 per cent lower price. Titles range from rarities like the Standing Room Only and Lejenz albums via classics by Clyde McPhatter, The Players, The Marvelettes and Irma Thomas to killer cheapies that just need the spotlight set on them.

Rare Groove

Back to Record Mania's roots this week with a rare groove update! Album-wise we can offer a healthy dose of undisputable classics from Marva Whitney, Skull Snaps, Weldon Irvine, Lyn Collins, Ike White, 24 Carat Black, Lafayette Afro Rock Band etc, and let's not forget the Cymande treble.

Over to the 45s, where we are happy to offer much-wanted titles from Sisters Love, Odyssey, Skull Snaps (again), Esther Williams, Betty Harris and Pleasure. It's a pretty small but very potent batch of singles this week, so make sure to take a look!
